Update: Blue ribbons all around! 4 of our projects will go onto the state fair. John's headboard exceeds size limitations and so we will lug it home tomorrow. We are relieved. That thing is heavy!

For the past few weeks we have been busy sewing, sawing, quilling and painting 4-H projects. The kids have been in 4-H for about a month and they started with a bang. The annual 4-H fair is tomorrow. So this morning we loaded these projects and four kids wearing slippers into the car. The fifth one had sense enough to wear flip-flops. (The other four complained as we pulled out of the driveway that their feet were sweating.)

So now, I guess we can get back to algebra, language arts and history for awhile. But not for long. There's an entomology exhibit that we need to prepare for in a few weeks. (Mom, if you click on the pictures you can see them in greater detail. The quilling looks great up close.)

and while I'm at it, I'll order the apron...oh, and I've been looking for a local artist to paint me a garden scene landscape... and I'm sure Jack will need to learn how to use tools safely one day, too... :)
Or maybe we should just take the inspiration we found in yours, and go do our own, instead... what do you think? :)

Faith looks so blah because she had been making super cheesey faces and I asked her if she could tone it down a little. So she did...to the extreme. That's my girl!

We need a headboard for our bed too. We've been married for 15 years and have never had more than the boxspring and mattress. I guess I'll have to put John and Stuart to work on that next.

Everyone did a great job on their project. My girls love the apron and the quilling projects best. In fact, they asked if we could "quill" a little!
